Mould – it affects all areas of health

The following article is from Dr Jill Crista, Mould Expert. She shares the latest research from Finland which confirms that mould toxicity and mycotoxins (the chemicals produced by mould spores) affect more than just our respiratory system — mould also affects the brain:

“Finland is on it when it comes to publishing human research about mold. I wanted to share this study with you because it has one of the best summary statements.

The results of this study corroborate our earlier findings that toxic indoor air may cause a plethora of neurological symptoms.

Bad indoor air is therefore not only a risk for respiratory problems and asthma but should be viewed broader as a systemic biotoxicosis.

Therefore, psychologization of this disorder without mentioning the underlying insulting mechanisms should be discouraged.

How many of our mold patients are made to feel like they’re crazy? How many are gaslit by their own family members who are not (yet) affected?  Patients are brought to tears when I show them stats like this from the study:

Compared to the unexposed cohort, the study cohort had statistically significant (p < 0.05) risks to develop symptoms of the:

  • Central nervous system RR = 2.85 (95% CI 1.19-6.85)
  • Fatigue RR = 2.82 (1.55-5.11)
  • Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) RR = 2.81 (1.06-7.46)
  • Cardiac arrhythmia RR = 9.58 (1.33-68.81)
  • Respiratory symptoms RR = 2.66 (1.58-4.48).

I point out that central nervous system symptom incidence is HIGHER than the more accepted respiratory symptoms. This validates their experience that mold brain is REAL.”

Bear in mind that mould feeds on moisture and dust.  When humidity levels rise about 55%, it feeds mould.  When there is any amount of water inundation – whether from a leaky water pipe or full on flood – mould grows. Often in nooks and crannies we cannot see or easily access.  Only a professional assessment will identify mould.
