What’s good for you is good for the planet

A few simple changes can have a huge beneficial effect on your health as well as the planet.

  • The healing power of nature. Naturopathic medicine recognises an inherent self-healing process in everyone and acts to identify and remove obstacles to healing and recovery to facilitate the self-healing process.
  • Treat the whole person.
  • Treat the cause. The Naturopath aims to identify and remove the underlying causes of illness rather than to suppress symptoms.
  • First do no harm.
  • Naturopath as teacher. Naturopaths educate their patients and encourage self-responsibility for health. They also recognise and employ the therapeutic potential of the practitioner-patient relationship.
  • Prevention. It has been said that ‘prevention is the best cure’. Naturopaths emphasise the prevention of disease by assessing risk factors, heredity and susceptibility to disease, and by making appropriate interventions to prevent illness.
  • Wellness – health is not just not being sick, but a higher state of functioning, which is promoted via naturopathic means.
