The answer is that without testing we sometimes run blind and are unable to address underlying issues that are interfering with fertility, whether it is conception, maintaining a full term pregnancy or birthing a healthy baby.
In my book I explain and provide information of which tests are recommended and further options should basic blood pathology be inadequate.
We are living in a time of challenges — one of which relates to financial capacity. I get it but I have also learned that sometimes (not always) we need to dig deeper. This may involve doing a Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis or even an ethical DNA assessment. The latter has often unlocked the key that helps resolve metabolic factors impairing fertility outcomes.
I have seen many couples and singles in clinic seeking fertility guidance who have decided not to go ahead with testing and found that their attempts at conceiving continued to fail. In the end, when we did test, we were able to identify the reasons. With proper support, they all went on to conceive and birth a healthy baby.
Sometimes we just need to consider priorities. After all, creating a new life is a life-long project.
Read on as I share experiences from some of our most experienced fertility clinicians.
