Motor Neuron Disease

Motor Neuron Disease (MND) or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig’s Disease all refer to the same condition where the body’s immune system begins to attack the myelin sheath surrounding our nerve fibres.  MND has been featured in several reports recently portraying how sufferers are affected and how they, and their families, are coping with the knowledge that they will succumb to this condition.  At the moment there is no known medical treatment and life expectancy from diagnosis is usually around three years.  Rather than discuss treatment, I would like to consider prevention.

Whether MND, cancer, arthritis, multiple sclerosis or any host of other chronic conditions, prevention is the key.  You can read any of the thousands of health-related websites, books, magazines or journals and repeatedly find the same advice:  diet and lifestyle are crucial to health and long term wellness.  Eating a nourishing, well-balanced diet, consuming adequate purified water, getting adequate sleep, daily exercise and rest as well as minimising exposure to toxins form the foundation of good health.

In addition to the decisions we make on a daily basis regarding what foods we choose to eat, what we choose to drink, how much sleep we get, we also make decisions regarding medication and vaccinations.  Please take the time to read what Dr Mercola has to say about the documented link between many chronic conditions and vaccines.

Make informed decisions and remember that if you need qualified advice, seek out a registered natural health practitioner.
